Father’s Day Weekend Adventures: Reconnecting Through Rivers, Rafts, and Real Moments

This Father’s Day weekend, I found myself back where it all began—floating the rapids near Wenatchee, Washington, with the sun on my face, the roar of the river in my ears, and a heart full of gratitude. It’s been nearly a decade since I last strapped on a life vest and pushed off into whitewater, and this time, something was different: the kids are finally old enough to come along.

Ten years ago, these rivers were my personal playgrounds. Back then, it was just a group of wild-hearted young adults seeking adventure, bonding, and a little bit of adrenaline. Now, as our children grow into their own sense of courage and curiosity, it felt like a rite of passage to invite them into this sacred space—a place where nature challenges you and heals you at the same time.
What made this weekend even more special was reconnecting with old friends who still run the local river recreation outfitters. We’ve shared a lot over the years—campfires, crazy trips, early morning take-offs—and it felt like no time had passed. At the same time, I had the joy of meeting new friends who were just beginning their whitewater journeys. There’s something magical about watching someone experience the river for the first time—the nerves, the laughter, the awe.
Whether you choose to glamp in an RV, pitch a tent riverside, or sleep right in your raft under the stars for an early morning push-off, don’t forget the essentials: a good grill, hearty breakfast supplies, and coffee. Always coffee.

This isn’t just about Father's Day. Maybe you’re celebrating a birthday, a graduation, a reunion—or even a "Celebration of Life." These river adventures are for anyone called to reconnect—with family, with friends, with the wild world around us, and most importantly, with yourself.
Come solo, bring your tribe, or build a family adventure. Whether you’re a first-time paddler or a seasoned rafter getting back in the game, there’s a place for you on the river. Let’s co-create your next destination package—rafting, camping, reflecting, and celebrating.
Book your next adventure. And let’s ride the river of life—together.
